FRM Exam Prep: Part I and Part II practice for iPhone and iPad
Practice for the FRM Exam Part I and Part II: 2,000 questions that explain every answer, a calculator that shows the keys, Error DNA, timed simulations and a plan to your sitting.
Two Parts, two complete engines
- 2,000 original questions: 1,000 for Part I and 1,000 for Part II, each mapped to a reading and a learning objective of the 2026 curriculum.
- Each Part has its own progress, readiness, plan, exam date and simulation; switch in one tap.
- Simulations at the real format and weights: Part I has 100 questions and Part II has 80, four hours each (see the structure and weights).
A calculator that shows the keys
- On-screen BA II Plus and HP 12C style calculators, the models GARP allows on exam day (which calculator and how to set it up).
- Key-by-key walkthroughs on more than 550 calculation questions, lessons for setup, time value of money, cash flows and statistics, and more than 20 drills that make fresh numbers and check your answer.
- Every walkthrough is replayed on the calculator engines in automated tests, so the keys shown give the number printed.
Error DNA: see why you miss questions
- Every wrong option is built to catch one kind of mistake: a skipped step, a reversed sign, the wrong version of a formula, a mixed-up concept.
- The app counts which mistakes you actually make, compares them with chance and shows your pattern, then trains against it with one tap.
- After every simulation, a card shows what cost you points.
Every answer teaches
- The correct answer explained, and why each other option is wrong.
- The formulas used, set in proper notation and linked to the Formula Lab of 198 formulas, with small calculators for the ones you need on the day.
- Formula cards with spaced repetition: read the name, recall the formula, check it; the ones you miss come back tomorrow, the ones you know come back less and less often.
- Exhibits (tables) to read, as on the exam.
A plan for your sitting
- Choose May, August or November: the plan counts down to your day and sets the daily goal that gets you through every question (windows, deadlines and fees). GARP sets and can change its dates and fees: confirm them on garp.org.
- Spaced repetition brings each question back just before you would forget it.
- Retaking? Tell the app which topics went badly and practice starts there.
- Readiness against your own target: GARP reports pass or fail only, so the app never invents a pass mark (how to plan your hours).
Checked before you see it
Every calculation answer is recomputed from scratch by a separate script, and every question was solved again without its answer key; each disagreement was investigated and the question corrected where it was wrong. A "How we verify" page in the app lists the figures, and corrections are listed with their dates; every question has a "Report a problem" button. No practice material can be guaranteed free of error, so check anything that matters against GARP's official curriculum.
Private, offline, ad-free
No account, no ads, no tracking. Your progress stays on your device, and the app works offline. Widgets show the days to your sitting and a formula a day; Siri and Spotlight shortcuts open practice, the calculator and the Formula Lab.
Free first, then one payment per Part
The free plan includes 75 questions per Part, the diagnostic, the calculator and the Formula Lab. FRM Complete opens both Parts for a year, a Part Pass opens one Part for 150 days and a 30-Day Pass opens both Parts for a month. Every plan is one payment: nothing renews and there is no account. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, and you can restore purchases at any time.
What it is, and what it is not
FRM Prep is an independent study aid by an independent developer. Its questions are original practice questions, not actual exam questions, and the app is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GARP. FRM® and GARP® are registered trademarks of GARP. The on-screen calculators imitate the keys of the approved models for practice and are not those products; they are not allowed in the exam room. Use the app together with GARP's official curriculum, learning objectives and practice exams. The app is for education only, not investment, financial or legal advice, and no study aid can guarantee an exam result.

Frequently asked questions
What is the FRM Exam?
The FRM® Exam is the two-part, multiple-choice exam of GARP's Financial Risk Manager certification. After passing both parts, a candidate submits at least two years of risk-related work experience to complete the certification. See the exam structure.
How many questions are on FRM Part I and Part II?
Part I has 100 equally weighted multiple-choice questions and Part II has 80, each in four hours, on a computer. There is no penalty for a wrong answer. Topic weights and what each topic covers.
What score passes the FRM Exam?
GARP does not publish a pass mark. Candidates receive a pass or fail with percentile ranges that compare them to their peers, and no numerical score. FRM Prep therefore shows your results against a target you can read as your own goal, not as a pass mark.
Which calculator can I use on the FRM Exam?
Only the HP 12C family, the HP 10B II and 10B II+, the HP 20B and the TI BA II Plus (including the BA II Plus Professional), with the memory cleared. Setting them up, with a worked example.
When are the FRM exam windows, and what do they cost?
There are three windows a year, in May, August and November. For 2026 GARP lists the fee as USD 600 for early registration or USD 800 for standard registration per Part, plus a one-time USD 400 enrollment fee. GARP can change dates and fees: confirm them on garp.org. Dates, deadlines and the rules for changing your date.
Do I have to pass Part I before Part II?
GARP's rule, as published in the 2026 Candidate Guide: you may sit both Parts in the same window, but Part II is graded only if you pass Part I. Check garp.org for the current rule.
How long should I study?
GARP reports that candidates spend about 275 hours on average, with reported times from under 100 to over 400; your own time depends on your background. Turning hours into weeks.
Are these the real exam questions?
No. FRM Prep's questions are original practice questions, written to follow the published format, topics and learning objectives. The app is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with GARP.
