FRM Exam Prep: Part 1 & 2 — Support

Questions, a problem, or a question you think is wrong? Email us at exampass.support@gmail.com. We answer within two business days. From inside the app you can also use "Report a problem" on any question (the ••• menu), which fills in the question and app details for you. If the numbers or keys of a calculator walkthrough don't give the answer shown, choose "The calculator steps don't give the answer".

To help us find the problem quickly, please tell us the app version (Settings > About), your iOS version and device, which Part you were in, and, if you can, include a screenshot.

About the app

Is FRM Prep affiliated with GARP?
No. It is an independent study aid published by an independent developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GARP (the Global Association of Risk Professionals). FRM® and GARP® are registered trademarks of GARP.

Are these the real exam questions?
No. The questions are original practice questions written for the app. We have no access to the actual exam, and no study aid can predict what a given exam will contain. The questions follow the published exam format, topics and learning objectives, and they train the skills the exam tests.

How many questions are there, and how are they organized?
2,000 questions: 1,000 for Part I and 1,000 for Part II. Part I covers Foundations of Risk Management, Quantitative Analysis, Financial Markets and Products, and Valuation and Risk Models; Part II covers Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk and Resilience, Liquidity and Treasury Risk, Risk and Investment Management, and Current Issues in Financial Markets. Every question is mapped to a reading and a learning objective of the 2026 curriculum, and has an explanation of the correct answer and of why each other option is wrong.

How are the questions checked?
Every calculation answer is recomputed from scratch by a separate script, and every question was solved again without its answer key, with every disagreement investigated and fixed. The "How we verify our questions" page in Settings > About lists the figures and the dated corrections.

How do the two Parts work together?
Each Part has its own progress, readiness, plan, exam date, simulation and unlock. Switch with the Part picker at the top of Today. GARP requires you to pass Part I before Part II (you may sit both in the same window, but Part II is not graded if Part I is failed): the app lets you study either Part at any time.

How do exam simulations work, and what do they score?
Part I: 100 questions in four hours. Part II: 80 questions in four hours. Questions are drawn by GARP's published topic weights. Unanswered questions count as incorrect, and there is no penalty for a wrong answer, so answer every question. GARP reports only pass or fail with percentile ranges and publishes no pass mark, so the app shows your score against a target you can read as your own goal (70% by default), not as a pass mark.

What is the readiness estimate?
An estimate built from your accuracy, coverage and retention, shown against your target. It is not a prediction of your exam result.

What is the calculator, and can I use it on exam day?
The app includes on-screen calculators in the style of the TI BA II Plus and the HP 12C, the models GARP permits, with key-by-key walkthroughs, lessons and drills. They are for practice only: they are not allowed in the exam room. On exam day you bring one of GARP's approved models (the HP 12C family, HP 10B II or 10B II+, HP 20B, or the TI BA II Plus including the Professional) with its memory cleared. Settings > Study has an option to hide the on-screen calculator in simulations if you want to train on your own.

What is Error DNA?
Every wrong option in the question bank is built to catch one kind of mistake (for example a skipped step, a reversed sign or the wrong version of a formula). When you pick a wrong option, that mistake is counted. After enough mistakes the app shows which kinds you make more often than chance would explain, and builds practice on them. Nothing leaves your device.

I am retaking a Part. How do I use that?
Settings > FRM Part > Retaking this Part?, or the card on Today: mark each topic as strong, fair, weak or very weak from your result report or your own sense of how it went. Practice then leans toward your weak topics, and the lean fades as you answer questions of your own. It never changes your readiness estimate.

What do I need to run the app?
An iPhone or iPad with iOS 18 or later. Studying works offline; an internet connection is needed only to buy or restore a plan.

Plans and purchases

What does the free plan include?
75 questions per Part, the placement diagnostic, the calculator trainer and the Formula Lab. A plan unlocks every question and unlimited simulations.

Part I and Part II are bought separately?
FRM Complete opens both Parts at once, and so does the 30-Day Pass. A Part Pass opens one Part. The purchase screen of each Part lists the plans that unlock it.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Settings > Your plan for Part I (or Part II) > Restore purchases, also on the purchase screen. Use the same Apple Account you bought with.

Is there anything to cancel?
No. Nothing in FRM Prep renews: every plan is a one-time purchase that ends by itself, and there is no subscription to cancel.

How long does a pass last? Does it renew?
The length is shown on the purchase screen. It counts from the day you buy it, until the end of the last day, whatever your exam date is. A pass is a one-time purchase: it never renews and there is nothing to cancel. When it ends you return to the free plan and keep your progress; you can buy it again. The app counts the days from the purchase date Apple records, so setting the clock on your device back does not make it longer. If the clock is set ahead, access can look finished until you correct the date.

How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple: https://reportaproblem.apple.com

Will I lose my progress if my plan ends?
No. Your answers, reviews and results stay; questions outside the free plan are locked until you buy again, and questions you have already answered stay open.

Widgets and shortcuts

How do I add the widgets?
Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap +, search for "FRM Prep" and choose the Exam countdown or the Formula of the day. The countdown also comes in Lock Screen sizes. They show the last state the app saved, so open the app once after changing your exam date.

Which Siri shortcuts are there?
"Quick practice in FRM Prep", "How many days until my exam in FRM Prep", "Open formulas in FRM Prep", "Open the calculator in FRM Prep" and "Start an exam simulation in FRM Prep". They also appear in the Shortcuts app. Formulas and readings can be found from Spotlight too.

Your data and privacy

Where is my progress stored? Can I move it to a new phone?
On your device only. When you set up a new iPhone or iPad from a backup (iCloud or computer), your progress comes with it. The app has no account and no sync, so a device you set up as new starts empty.

How do I delete my data?
Settings > Your data > Reset progress (it resets the Part you are in), or delete the app. We do not hold your study data, so there is nothing to delete on our side. See our Privacy Policy: https://examsupport.pages.dev/frm/privacy/.

What data do you collect?
None: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. Purchases are processed by Apple. Details are in our Privacy Policy: https://examsupport.pages.dev/frm/privacy/

Questions and accessibility

I think a question or its answer is wrong.
Thank you, this is exactly what we want to hear. Use "Report a problem" on the question, or email us the question text. We check every report against the curriculum and correct the question if needed; corrections are listed with their dates under Settings > About > How we verify our questions.

Is the app accessible?
The app supports VoiceOver (formulas and subscripts are read aloud), Larger Text, Dark Mode, Reduce Motion and Increase Contrast. If something does not work for you, email us and we will fix it.
